WHEN:  Wednesday 28th May 2014
WHERE:  Robinson’s Brewery & Visitor Centre, Apsley Street, Hillgate, Stockport, SK1 1JJ
WHAT’S ON:  Tour of the Brewery & the Visitor Centre which opened in 2013 & provides video information, shop & homemade meals including afternoon tea.You can also meet Regent & Royale – two Shire Horses.
The cost of the tour is £8.50. Unfortunately there are 54 stairs to climb- but in stages during the tour
DIRECTIONS:  Meet at the Visitor Centre at 12:15 pm which is situated on Hillgate & is not far from the M60 (Junctions 1, 26 or 27). Parking is available on site or in an adjacent car park if this is full.

WHEN:  Tuesday 17th June 2014
WHERE:  Dunham Massey Hall, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14 4SJ Meet at 12 for lunch in the new Visitor Centre opening in January.
WHAT’S ON:  Tour of the interior of the Hall and if time permits the gardens. The interior of the Hall is to be transformed to reflect it’s role as a Military Hospital during the second half of the First World War, making for a different experience for those who have visited Dunham Massey previously.
DIRECTIONS:  Dunham Massey is well ‘brown signed’ but is off the A56 between Altrincham and the M56.
From Altrincham follow A56 towards M56 past Vegetarian Society H.Q. on the left. The entrance to the car park is approx. ½ mile on the left.
WHEN:  Thursday 10th July 2014
WHERE:  The British Commercial Vehicle Museum, King St., Leyland, Lancs. PR25 2LE, which houses a large collection of  old buses, lorries, vans etc.
WHAT’S ON: Meet for lunch at the Hayrick, Leyland at 12 noon, where they have a large selection of snacks and pub food. This will be followed at 2:00 pm by a guided tour of The Vehicle Museum at a cost of £6.50 p.p. for 10 persons or more.
DIRECTIONS: Leave the M6 at junction 28, take the B5256 signed for Chorley, approx. 300yds. At the traffic lights enter 3rd lane from right, cross A49, the Hayrick is immediately on the right with a large car park. For the Museum return on same route, cross A49, follow signs to the Museum which is on the left after a public car park. There is a large sign on the side of the Museum and a car park, if this is full use public car park.
 
WHEN:  Thursday 21st August 2014 from 9:00 am to approx 4pm
WHERE:  Portland Basin Marina, Lower Alma St., Dukinfield, SK16 4SQ
WHAT’S ON:  A day trip on the beautiful Peak Forest Canal between Ashton and Marple in a small day boat. Participants may ride in the cabin or outside on the two decks or if they wish, help with the driving.
Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available on board and a stop will be made for a pub lunch (or if you prefer you may picnic on board) The boat has a toilet which is accessed is via a few steps.

DIRECTIONS:  From the Ashton Bypass (A635) take the Dukinfield Road past the Asda Superstore, go under the railway bridge and immediately before the traffic lights turn right into Lower Alma St. by the side of the National Tyres garage

WHEN: Tuesday 23rd September 2014 @ 11:00 am
WHERE: National Waterways Museum, South Pier Road, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, CH65 4FW
WHAT’S ON: Group package including Tea and coffee on arrival, 45 minute tour of the Museum, 30/40 minute canal boat trip along the Shropshire Union Canal aboard NB Centaur.
Cost of the visit is £7.50 p.p. with a maximum number of 20. Therefore it will be on a ‘first come first served’ basis but if there is sufficient interest, I will open a reserve list. Payment by cheque required in advance, but please don’t send it until I have confirmed your place.
DIRECTIONS: Meet at the Museum at 11:00 am.
Travelling by car – M53 Junction 9 and follow the signs for the Boat Museum, where there is free parking. Travelling by train – the Museum is a 10 minute walk from Ellesmere Port train station or approximately £3.00 by taxi.

WHERE: Mitre Hotel, Manchester.
What’s on: A.G.M. and Buffet at 1:00pm.
