"On 5 June, 20 members of
Manchester CERMARS crossed the Pennines to Marsden in Yorkshire. A short stroll
along the Huddersfield Narrow canal brought us to the Standedge Tunnel
and Visitor Centre. This canal tunnel is both the longest and
highest in Britain. Closed for many years, It was re-opened as a Millenium
project and is once again fully navigable. Our group enjoyed a 30 minute boat
trip into the tunnel, followed by lunch at the canalside cafe and a visit to
the Visitor Centre. Fortunately the weather was good."
Clearly a great day out!!

.......

....Guess who?
All aboard !!!!!!
